Position Description Employees in this classification are responsible for the performance of manual work involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Work is performed under supervision according to established procedures and methods, and is checked frequently and evaluated for the accomplishment of assigned tasks.

Major/Essential Functions
- Restroom Specialist: Remove objects from toilets/urinals. Picks up debris from floor. Refills all consumable product dispensers. Empties all restroom trash & hygienic collection containers. Dust top to bottom. Disinfect sinks, mirrors, doors, and assigned fomites. Keeps restroom cart tidy and uses only assigned chemicals. Mops floor.
- Light Duty Specialist: Empties trash, takes all trash & recycling to a collection area. Dusts all assigned and accessible surfaces. Spot cleans doors, push plates, switch plates, and drinking fountains. Spot cleans vertical surfaces including mirrors & glass. Cleans and stocks white boards/chalk boards. Detail cleans assigned areas on a weekly basis.
- Vacuum Specialist: Checks wastebaskets in offices to make sure trash is empty. Detail vacuums all high traffic areas. Spot vacuums all other areas. Vacuuming includes visible debris, crumbs or dry spills on furniture, and detail vacuuming all assigned areas weekly. Repositions furniture correctly. Turns out lights upon completion. Secure areas, Follows "Dot Program". Cleans up vacuum and all tools. Follows vacuum maintenance system.
- Utility Specialist: Spot cleans elevators. Police stairs and vacuum stairwells. Cleans all glass entrances. Picks up all trash at assigned collection point and hauls trash to dumpsters. Detail cleans and spot cleans carpet. Detail and spot mops hard surface floors. Cleans first impression areas. Cleans up tools and equipment. Assists in all floor care. Shampoo and extract carpets as needed or scheduled. Effectively removes spots on carpet/floors regularly to prevent permanent damage. Uses various carpet cleaning equipment. Properly and safely operates equipment required to strip/finish hard-surface floors. Follows established procedures to maintain acceptable levels of finish with expected quality. Must wear proper PPE for floor care.
- Employee is required to wear the issued uniform which includes TTU issued shirt, slip resistant safety shoes, and TTU employee ID. Employee must follow Management, Supervisor, and or Building Lead instructions and all other duties assigned by Management, Supervisor, and/or Building Lead
Required Qualifications Requires the ability to understand simple written and verbal instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced skills in hard wood and/or tile floor maintenance and carpet care.
- Applicants for this Security Sensitive Level II position will be subject to a criminal background check and must pass a drug and alcohol test after a conditional offer of employment has been extended, but before employment can be confirmed.
