Job Summary

Provide primary health care to students and eligible members of the Georgia Southern University community in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the State of Georgia. This position has been identified by Federal Law (Jeanne Clery Act) as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), with significant student and campus responsibilities. CSA's are obligated to report crimes reported to them which occurred on campus, in public areas bordering campus and in certain non-campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the University.

This is a 10-month, benefitted position.

Responsibilities
  • Manage patients needing primary care, including chronic and episodic care for both the acutely and chronically ill
  • Participate in the education and preceptorship of student learners and new staff members
  • Maintain professional affiliations
  • Provide in-service programs for Health Services staff and other University personnel as requested
  • Assist with the Health Education staff of Health Services with on-campus health education programming activities as requested
  • Participate in staff meetings and in staff committees, cooperates with peers and others, and maintains competency through continuing education as per Health Services policies
  • Participate in clinical research as requested
  • Provide advisory and educational services to the greater community as requested
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient records


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree or higher from an accredited Physician Assistant's educational program, Accreditation Review Committee, or Education for the Physician Assistant Program (ARC-PA)

Other Required Qualifications
  • Successful completion of the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination, and maintain status as certified physician assistant Licensed as a physician assistant in the state of Georgia in good standing CPR certification

Required Experience
  • One (1) or more years of work experience as a Certified Physician Assistant within the last five years Active DEA registration and prescribing privileges, or eligibility of these Clinical experience with all ages of patients, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric


Proposed Salary

Commensurate with Experience

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
