Job Summary

The Area Nursing Director is responsible for partnering with the Chief Nursing Executive, Chief Nursing Officer and Sales team in achieving organizational goals. This position is part of the US Medical Affairs Team directly reporting to the Chief Nursing Executive. The Area Nursing Director works closely with the Chief Nursing Officer, the Chief Nursing Executive as well as the clinical and sales teams to coordinate all aspects of customer installations and training, research, project management including to identify and resolve challenges. The Area Nursing Director also develops clinical education for the sales team, and will be instrumental in helping the team effectively collaborate with Nurse, physician and clinical decision makers with the objective to insure that customer leadership recognizes how Masimo solutions and technology improve Patient Safety, Patient Quality, Patient Outcomes, Regulatory Requirements and nursing and/or clinical workflow.

Duties & Responsibilities



  • Clinical and technology subject matter expert and champion of how solutions support nursing workflow;
  • Solid and thorough understanding of clinical workflow in the areas of acute care nursing;
  • Evaluate trends in the industry, participate in developing and executing sales and marketing plans;
  • Foster strategic thinking and creativity to conceptualize innovative approaches to existing market opportunities in Acute Care, and new frontiers in the area of healthcare;
  • Participate with thought leaders in multiple areas including Acute Care, Tele-Medicine, trauma centers, and Hospital at Home organizations to promote improvements in patient care through the utilization of Masimo Technology;
  • Partner with Sales leaders and account managers to achieve sales quotas in all Acute Care markets; Including Hospital Care, Tele-medicine and ambulatory surgery, and other areas as needed;
  • Work with Clinical Specialists, and Area and Regional Vice Presidents, Chief Nursing Officers and The Chief Nursing Executive as well as Account Managers to successfully complete customer installations and or special projects with Masimo monitoring solutions;
  • Manage or assist as needed with the installation process and personnel;
  • Engage with internal teams as a Clinical leader in notable customer presentations, and key evaluations, with a common sense of purpose, and a commitment to demonstrate how Masimo technology can enhance nursing workflow, improve patient and clinical outcome and/or comply with regulatory requirements;
  • Assist team in the role in the clinical education to increase the knowledge of Masimo's sales, clinical, and marketing teams on current nursing or clinical practices;
  • Develop and lead the clinical education, follow up, and training needs of the teams; with a common sense of purpose and achievement, and a strong commitment to demonstrate how Masimo solutions enhance nursing workflow, improve patient and clinical outcome and/or comply with regulatory requirements;
  • Participate in continued evaluation of new products and assist in beta testing and positioning;
  • Extensive domestic travel is a major job component;
  • Performs other duties or special projects as requested;
  • Support Trade Shows.


Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications



  • Eight or more years of nursing experience in the clinical arena, with an understanding of Acute Care, and the US Continuum of Care; Leadership and operational experience is a plus.
  • The successful candidate must possess personal and professional credibility, and abide by Masimo's guiding principles;
  • Commands strong, written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Is comfortable in high visibility situations, exhibits strong self-confidence;
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and developing clinical presentations;
  • Must be results oriented with positive "can do" attitude with a sense of urgency to get things done;
  • Must be comfortable in a business development role;
  • Has a proven track record in Change management, with an emphasis on new patient care processes based on clinical evidence and new, innovative technologies;
  • Must be able to build upon success of the organization's existing customers;
  • Must be an independent problem solver;
  • Must be organized and detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Must be able to professionally communicate effectively with management, executives, physicians, staff, peers, sales reps and customers;
  • Must be able to maintain an extensive domestic travel schedule; 60%.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Possesses an deep understanding of the complex process of introducing clinically differentiated new technology into a price driven market;
  • Sales/management/business development experience;
  • Background in education or research.


Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $165,000- $210,000 plus benefits. Actual salary placement within these ranges depends on a variety of factors, including skills, education, and professional experience. In addition, this position is also eligible for variable compensation of up to $40,000, based on achievement of 100% of annual

Education

Bachelor's degree, in Nursing is required, Master's degree preferred

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works outside of a traditional office, making frequent customer visits on a daily basis. Participates in all aspects of the installation and follow up of equipment in hospital and hospital like care facilities. Extensive and frequent domestic and local travel is a major job component, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required. Must have a valid Driver's license with a driving record that meets company's insurance requirements. It also requires frequent driving, sitting, standing and walking. May stand for extended periods when facilitating customer meetings or walking in the facilities. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.
