JOB TITLE: Clients Benefits Specialist FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt

BBSI is a Professional Employer Organization (PEO). The BBSI benefits team supports client companies (business owners) with consultation, onboarding, and ongoing service related to the benefit program. Benefits Specialists are part of the benefits team. The role works closely with client contacts, Benefit Consultants, and other members of the service team to facilitate an exemplary client and worksite employee experience in reference to the administration of their benefit offering.

Lines of coverage include Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D, Short- and Long-Term Disability, EAP, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a cohesive team to achieve company and departmental goals.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of benefit plans, carriers, internal guidelines, and processes.
  • Respond promptly and succinctly to client inquiries and client worksite employees' questions/concerns regarding benefit offerings.
  • Responsible for accuracy of participant enrollments and terminations consistent with carrier, company, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Generate and/or review client-facing reports and communications/materials using provided templates as needed.
  • Accurate and timely configuration and/or audit of online employee enrollment portal as needed.
  • Generate and monitor internal enrollment reports, reconcile invoices, calculate adjustments, and ensure accuracy of benefit payroll deductions.
  • Follow internal operational processes including entering client benefit information and documenting activities in CRM.
  • Provide support to Benefits Consultants as needed, during sales, onboarding, and open enrollment. At times this may include on-site enrollment support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the role/team.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years employee benefits administration experience
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment, especially during peak times.
  • Energetic, positive attitude
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • An eye for detail.
  • Prior PEO experience a plus.
  • Life & Health license a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, familiarity with online enrollment platforms, payroll systems, online video-conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams).

Salary and Other Compensation:

The starting hourly range for this position is 26-32.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography, skills, education, experience, certifications, and other qualifications of the candidate.

This position is also eligible for annual incentive pay equal to 5% of annual regular pay, prorated in the first year, in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan.

Paid Time Off: Accrued sick leave of 1 hour for every 40 hours of work, with maximum based on state or regional requirements; vacation accrues up to 80 hours in the first year, up to 120 hours in years 2-4, and up to 160 hours in the fifth year; 6 paid holidays annually, 4 paid volunteer days annually.
