The Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program (BSGP) serves as the umbrella graduate program in the College of Medicine, with 11 areas of research emphasis and 400 associated faculty members in 26 units across The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children's Hospital. The primary objective of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program is to provide interdisciplinary training to talented predoctoral students and to equip them with the necessary skills to make significant scientific breakthroughs in academia, industry, and government. The Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program's Education Program Specialist 2 collaborates with the Faculty Co-Directors, the Administrative Program Director, and teaching faculty to provide programmatic coordination and professional-level administrative support. Duties include but are not limited to coordinating and executing recruitment activities; serving as the primary BSGP point of contact for the planning and coordination of the COM Trainee Research Day; coordinating logistical support for all Program events; assisting in processing graduate admissions applications and maintaining admissions spreadsheets; responding to general Program inquiries; course maintenance and scheduling; maintaining and updating BSGP content within the Student Information System (SIS), Carmen/Canvas, EDWARD, GradForms, Microsoft Teams, and other educational platforms; coordinate and submit travel requests and reimbursements for current and prospective COM students and program staff via Workday; performs other duties as assigned.
