Job Summary: Supervising the Edward, Elmhurst and Northwest Community Hospital Volunteer Programs for which includes assessing, initiating and coordinating volunteers for assigned hospitals at Endeavor Health and it's entities on and off campus to enhance patient services, provide amenities, and assist in meeting the hospital service needs. Acts as liaison between departments and volunteers, interacts with managers to produce new volunteer opportunities as programs continue to grow. What you will do:
- Screens, interviews, hires, orientates, trains, volunteers to fill open positions. Places volunteers in appropriate positions, according to department needs, time, availability, skills and talents of the volunteer. Performs daily rounding in order to maintain strong volunteer engagement.
- Maintains all volunteer records which include attendance records, medical requirements, training, orientation, and confidentiality/HIPPA statements. Records volunteer hours served, both individually and monthly for department statistics.
- Responsible for all communication related to Edward, Elmhurst and Northwest Community Hospitals volunteer program participants.
- Conducts monthly Volunteer Orientations and assists the Volunteer Director in updating the orientation materials as needed. Ensures all volunteers are trained for specific job duties.
- Provides resolution for difficult situations, follows up on complaints regarding volunteers, discharges volunteers from the program when appropriate and documents all disciplinary actions.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates volunteer recognition programs to ensure the volunteers are recognized and rewarded for their services. Provides official record of volunteer service to volunteers and schools as requested and writes letters of recommendation
- Develops and implements roles for volunteers at special hospital events, (e.g., disaster drills, health promotion events, health fairs.)
- Partners with representatives from School Districts to coordinate dates and times for various learning experiences. Works with hospital department managers to provide learning/shadowing experiences for students, schedules speakers, and conducts formal presentations as appropriate.
- In conjunction with the Director, Volunteer Services develops policies and procedures for the Volunteer Services Program and maintains knowledge of current trends in field through seminars and publications.
- In conjunction with the Director, Volunteer Services, develops and maintains operating budget for the Volunteer Program. Budget includes all recognition items, uniforms and supplies needed for the volunteer department.

- Education: Requires a High School Diploma or GED. An associate's degree is preferred.
- Certification: N/A
- Experience: A minimum of four years of volunteer or customer service experience. A minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory or lead role.
- Unique or Preferred Skills:
- Incumbent must possess strong leadership skills, excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- A moderate level of analytical ability is required. Work is performed in accordance with standard procedures but does require basic technical knowledge or in-depth, experience-based knowledge to analyze and interpret information.
- A significant level of communication skills is required to explain policies or otherwise communicate with others in situations requiring sensitivity and tact.
- Work is standardized but requires incumbents to deviate from established procedures when special problems or opportunities arise.
