POSITION SUMMARY: As a Data Engineer Intern, you will provide support to the IT (Data Engineer) team. This role offers hands-on experience with business analytics and data engineering to maintain scalable databases and enhance documentation. This role will provide support in improving and refactoring existing data ingestion through testing and automation projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Support the documenting and mapping of data elements, calculations, and requirements for existing Development App Power BI reports.
  • Review documentation alongside Data Engineers to ensure completeness
  • Ingest additional data from established pipelines (e.g., SQL Server to Snowflake via Azure Data Factory).
  • Support the automatation of various new data streams into Snowflake when new data is published.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify business use cases.
  • Ensure data is properly formatted and organized, including historical data.
  • Understand entity relationships and support the creation of ERDs for a SQL Server database.
  • Improve and refactor existing data ingestion services by increasing test coverage.
  • Fix low-priority bugs and enhance documentation.
  • Supports data validation, monitoring, and security best practices.
  • Ensures compliance with data governance policies, including access control and privacy requirements.
  • Supporting other projects as assigned by the supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  1. Pursing a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field


PAY: $18/hr
