The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair Scholars Program) at UC Riverside is a TRIO project federally funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The program's goal is to prepare eligible undergraduate students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. The McNair Scholars program is funded to serve 25 undergraduate students who are first-generation and low-income, or a member of a group that is underrepresented in graduate education. The Assistant Director (AD) is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing project programming and research experiences as outlined in the grant proposal. The AD will provide advising and mentoring to participants, including assistance with research projects, graduate school preparation, and assistance with graduate school applications for doctoral programs. In addition, the AD will assist with recruitment of program participants, collection of data for annual performance reports, and coordination of programming and student activities. This position is grant funded and is subject to availability of continued grant funding. The grant is in year 2 of a 5 year grant cycle.

The full salary range for the Assistant Director, McNair Scholars Program is $57,700 - $99,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $60,000 - $70,500 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
