Join our Pediatric Service as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care in the PICU. The NP will work to manage the care for the patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the DOU.

The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals. Document services rendered

This a Limited Appointment Position for approx. 7 months for a Pediatric Acute Nurse Practitioner. The NP will work 12 hour nights mainly in the PICU but may occasionally cover day the Peds DOU.

A Limited appt may convert to career

Salary range :$89.06-$127.19/hourly

Qualifications
  • Board Certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care with a minimum of 2 years experience in the PICU.
  • Successful completion of a Master's Degree or higher in an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a specialty in Pediatrics, Acute Care -Required
  • CA NP, NPF, and CA RN license - Required
  • NPI #, DEA # - Required

  • Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES- Required

  • National Certification in Nurse Practitioner Specialty as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner- Required
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Required
  • PALS certification from American Heart Association -Required
  • Pediatric PICU experience- required
  • Previous NP experience -required
  • Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs-Required
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel-Required
  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction-Required
  • Ability to set priorities-Required
  • Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence-Required
  • Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-Required
