Job Scope

The Quality Assurance Technician participates in the design, creation, implementation and monitoring of programs and methodologies to ensure that Luminex products meet established specifications, design criteria, quality standards and customer requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities


  • Review records for product release and documents for completeness & accuracy under a production schedule


  • Review and update (as authorized) quality system documentation


  • Log, file, maintain and archive various QA reports & records


  • Track key performance metrics


  • Prepares and collects materials for the monthly Instrument & Reagent Quality Review meetings


  • Investigates and works with other departments to resolve quality issues related to area assigned


  • Participates in internal compliance audits to established Quality System Manual and applicable regulations and standards


  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts by completing corrective/preventive actions as assigned


  • Assist other Quality Assurance personnel in Material Review Board (MRB) activities as needed


  • Order non-inventory items for Quality Assurance


Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Associate degree in a life science or engineering or equivalent related experience preferred or
  • H.S. Diploma required


  • 1+ Years Experience in an Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment preferred preferred


  • 1+ Years Experience with participating in formal audits preferred preferred


  • 3+ Years Minimum 3 years' experience in Manufacturing environment, previous Quality experience preferred preferred


  • Certification in a quality discipline preferred, such as CQT, CCT, CQI, etc. preferred


Training and Skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills


  • Computer skills (Microsoft Windows and Office programs), familiarity with Oracle preferred

  • Vision (Color) on the job is required - Occasionally

Standard Working Conditions

  • Must work onsite at Luminex office at least 90% of the time - Frequently


  • Work is normally performed in a typical manufacturing work environment - Frequently


  • Possible exposure to mechanical, biologic and chemical hazards - Occasionally


  • Frequent use of personal computer, copiers, printers, and telephones - Frequently


  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, listening, and talking - Frequently


  • Frequent work under stress, as a team member, and in direct contact with others - Frequently


  • Occasional lifting of 30 lbs. and climbing - Occasionally

Travel Requirements

  • 10% Travel may be required

The salary range for this position is $21.00 - 26.00.
