We are seeking aMedical Payment Poster to join our team!

Summary:

The Medical Payment Poster is responsible for accurately posting and reconciling payments, denials, and adjustments to patient accounts. This role works closely with third-party partners, such as Sunknowledge, to ensure timely processing of both manual and electronic transactions. The Payment Poster manages incoming documentation, processes refunds and credit balances, and regularly follows up with payors to obtain remittance information or resolve posting issues. A key part of this role includes maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling deposits with bank statements, and ensuring all payments are properly applied and documented in the system.

Job Responsibilities:

Cash Posting & Reconciliation



  • Collaborate with Sunknowledge to ensure timely and accurate posting of manual and electronic cash receipts, denials, and adjustments to patient accounts.
  • Post incoming payments from patients and virtual credit card payments (e.g., Brightree patient collections) received from payors.
  • Review and reconcile daily bank statements against Excel payment tracking sheets.
  • Review unapplied deposit reports from Sunknowledge and post payments accordingly.
  • Create and post deposits by reviewing incoming documents (e.g., EOBs and cash deposits) and attaching them to the corresponding sales order.


Refunds & Credit Balances



  • Process refunds and resolve credit balances in a timely and accurate manner.


Payor Communication & Follow-Up



  • Contact and follow up with payors to obtain electronic remittance information and resolve any issues related to payment posting.


Document Management & Coordination



  • Monitor and manage incoming documents with prior-day scan dates.
  • Assign appropriate Document Reasons to unassigned documents.
  • Work through assigned documents to ensure proper routing and processing:


    • Create deposits and receipts
    • Attach supporting documentation
    • Submit EOBs to Sunknowledge via Smartsheet form for application of payments, denials, and deposit posting



Other



  • Other duties as assigned



Basic Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 2 years of healthcare admin, medical billing, cash posting or relevant experience



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Education: Associates Degree
    2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience within Durable Medical Equipment (DME) industry
  • Experience with Brighttree



Skills and Abilities:



  • Ability to manage time, set priorities, and work cohesively among a group of team members.
  • This position requires an individual who is a self motivator with strong PC and keyboarding skills (including MS Office).
  • Must be comfortable working independently, referring to provided resources, and making educated decisions.
  • Individual must be detail orientated with an systematic approach to timely follow up.
  • Familiar with Explanation of Benefits and ANSI codes.
