Job Summary : The Commodity Manager - Indirect Categories will lead the strategic sourcing and procurement efforts for a broad range of indirect commodities including MRO, Facilities, Utilities, Material Handling, Office Supplies, Transportation, and Logistics. This role is responsible for developing commodity strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality services. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation across multiple indirect spend categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute multi-year commodity strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage key supplier relationships to ensure optimal service delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Lead negotiations for contracts and agreements, securing favorable terms and mitigating risk.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with indirect sourcing.
  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends and adjust strategies to maintain competitiveness.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and track performance against budget targets.
  • Identify and execute YOY cost savings.
Qualifications

Education:

  • * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. MBA desired

Experience:

  • * Minimum of 5 years in strategic sourcing and procurement, with a focus on indirect categories such as MRO, Facilities, Utilities, Material Handling, Office Supplies, Transportation, and Logistics.
Skills
  • Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive change
  • Strong understanding of market factors regarding various indirect categories.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing complex indirect procurement programs
  • Familiarity with industry best practices in indirect category management
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are a plus

Cubic Pay Range:

$125,000.00 - $160,000.00* + benefits.

*Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.
