Electronic Warfare Test Engineer - Senior LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL JOB STATUS: Full-time CLEARANCE: Active Secret CERTIFICATION: N/A TRAVEL: 25% Astrion has an exciting opportunity for Electronic Warfare Instrumentation Test Engineer located at the 46TS/TGBB in Eglin AFB, FL. This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron - Sensors and Defensive Systems Flight at Eglin AFB. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Master's Degree in an engineering and/or technical field. *Additional experience may be substituted for education.
- Ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants. Must have a current SECRET security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in the field of engineering, research and development, and/or flight test conduct in operational and/or developmental testing of weapon and avionics systems including electronic combat devices.
- Requires knowledge/experience with requirements definition, technical development, integration and test of airborne instrumentation system (AIS) flown on 4th gen and/or 5th gen aircraft.
- Requires knowledge of ground system(s) capable of receiving datalink messages from AIS-equipped aircraft for receipt, processing and real-time display.
- Requires knowledge of 4th/5th gen fighter aircraft weapons bus interface (1760/1553) with AIS pods and/or internal AIS subsystems.
- Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays when required to meet mission requirements.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Experience with radio frequency, electro-optical, and directed energy systems, and electronic combat techniques highly desired.
- Experience in USAF acquisition program management, engineering management and/or test highly desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform test engineering-related duties to execute testing of instrumentation on 4th/5th gen fighter aircraft.
- Provide individual technical expertise on questions/issues of critical importance to the customer.
- Assist in the development of system requirements, functional capabilities, performance measures, design constraints, test phase entry/exit criteria, and metrics.
- Support development test (DT), operational test (OT), force development evaluation (FDE), and certification for test readiness by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance with specifications and standards, and demonstrating a stable system configuration.
- Prepare, execute, review, and analyze test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the system-under-test development life cycle.
- Develop and write methods of tests, test cases, test cards/procedures, test directives, technical or letter reports, and test objectives.
- Review and analyze requirements and any other test process documents as required in the conduct of testing.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor test projects that frequently require significant modification of standard practices or adaptation of instrumentation to obtain valid results.
- Plan, monitor and evaluate tests, and assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests.
- Make recommendations and comments on the conventional aspects of the testing assignments.
- Coordinate schedules, pre-and post-test activities, and test results.
- Travel to military ranges and other locations to execute test procedures, data management, data reduction, data analysis, configuration management, hardware setup, hardware troubleshooting; and deficiency reporting, deficiency evaluation and recommendations, and official test reports.
- Conduct system testing, validation and verification testing, and modeling and simulation testing at locations to include but not limited to: Eglin AFB, FL; Ridgecrest, CA; Nevada Test and Training Range; Wright-Patterson AFB, OH; Patuxent River, MD; and other TDY locations.
