Moog is looking for a Staff Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on development of next-generation hypersonic vehicle solutions. You will provide engineering leadership, project leadership, business leadership, and engineering process ownership for your team. There is also a need to grow the team to the systems of systems architecture as well as network across the other Moog systems group. You will provide and assign the appropriate engineering resources on projects, manage the performance of your direct reports, maintain and improve engineering processes, and ensure project milestones are met. There is a level of functional leading that will be required on some programs and proposals, as well as ensuring the systems teams grows into one of the finest systems of systems engineering groups.

HVS is seeking a Staff Engineering Manager to support the ever-growing business unit. Leading the Systems Engineering team in the design and development of systems to perform in complex systems in order to continue to support the warfighter. You will report to the HVS Staff EngineeringManager and will have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, New York. You will have systems, electrical, firmware, software, and packaging reporting into this organization.

To be considered for the Staff Systems Engineering Manager, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 12+ years of Engineering work experience or
    • Masters Degree in Engineering with 10+ years of Engineering work experience
  • Team/project leadership experience
  • Experience and working knowledge across all System Engineering domains, to include new business/concept development, requirements development/allocation, system design and analysis, integration and test, anomaly resolution/root case investigations, MBSE, and systems of systems knowledge.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

As a Staff Systems Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Manage execution of work by teams and team members through monitoring progress and providing technical direction as well as establishing priorities.
  • Mentor direct reports in all aspects of Systems Engineering and Engineering career development. Model Systems Engineering industry best practices, Moog core values, to promote development of world-class Systems Engineering talent.
  • Oversee Team Leads and team members providing goals, feedback and recognition and developing talent through career planning and progression. Actively demonstrate Performance Management of resources to optimize skills and capabilities.
  • Support new programs through trade studies, concept development, proposal responses, and customer presentations.
  • Manage the product development capacity and planning process through active recruiting and retention of accomplished employees.
  • Manage the advancement of the product development process by providing technical support, developing tools and infrastructure, facilitating learning and continuity across teams.
  • Participate with other Engineering Managers as a member of the Engineering Leadership Team. This team sets direction for and develops processes for all Design and Development activities. It also provides technology leadership supporting R&D activities; optimize the interplay between product technology, tools and programs; and facilitate technology collaboration with other technologies.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to a Systems Engineering team working on actuation technology and integration of actuation systems.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $155,000.00-$190,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
