Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Mechanical Engineering Manager and Lead Project Engineers, the Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for new product development and implementation and must demonstrate high levels of technical skill and experience related to the application of their discipline.

Essential Responsibilities:



  • Performs assignments of a complex nature requiring a high degree of technical competence while planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects related to power generation enclosure systems design
  • Conceives and plans projects to explore and resolve product or process problems, defines and selects new concepts and approaches to the design or development of new or improved products, equipment or processes
  • Consolidates and presents the results of design reviews of major projects to members of the engineering group
  • Provide technical guidance and act as a mentor to less experienced engineers, designers, and technicians
  • Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials using the release process
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and navigating the plant with alert behavior
  • All other duties assigned by management


Qualifications

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or environmental engineering preferred; may substitute with directly applicable work experience on a year-for-year basis, which built competencies and subject matter expertise
  • Knowledge of federal and state occupational, health and safety regulations, especially OSHA standards
  • Demonstrated success in implementing, improving, and managing programs, communication, training, and reporting related to health and safety in a manufacturing environment
  • Tech-savvy using MS Office (especially Excel)


Preferred Qualifications:

Requires Professional Certification or ability to obtain one within one year:



  • GSP - Graduate Safety Professional
  • ASP - Associate Safety Professional
  • CSP - Certified Safety Professional
  • Project management skills
  • Effective communication at all levels of the organization
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
