KPMG is currently seeking an Associate to join our [1] Advisory Services practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with an inclusive, diverse team to evaluate structured debt instruments from an accounting, finance, tax and system viewpoints to assist with income computations that impact yield to maturity and present value using projected cash flows
  • Work with large sets of transaction data and parse through multiple data sets to get to the desired result; identify incremental improvements through resources such as Excel, VBA and Alteryx
  • Assist in system development, enhancement and testing related to proprietary software used for all debt products; work closely with programmers and developers to communicate our business need for system enhancements
  • Research and report on business concepts including accounting, finance, federal and some international income tax matters related to income recognition, expense deduction, debt instruments including discounts and premiums impacting various structured debt products and the entities holding and issuing these securities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of recent relevant work experience in a financial services, consulting or accounting firm
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-Related major from accredited college or university; Master's degree or CPA preferred
  • Advanced skills in excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, index, match and if functions; capacity to work with massive data sets; experience with tools such as VBA, Alteryx, PowerBI is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to work with large amounts of data to create a trial balance and financial statements
  • Ability to travel as needed, expected to be less than 10%
