The Opportunity:

This role within the Global Communications & Brand team will build strategic events strategy and support integrated marketing communications campaigns for the Bioscience Production Segment (BPS).

The Integrated Marketing Communications Strategic Events Manager will lead the execution of the business event channel strategy. This role will be responsible for defining and driving the industry event strategy as a key channel within our integrated downstream marketing approach.

In close collaboration with strategic marketing, commercial, and communications teams, this individual will ensure our event presence aligns with customer priorities, business goals, and brand positioning. This includes developing and managing integrated marketing communications plans, overseeing key deliverables, and tracking, monitoring, and reporting on the performance of event-related commercial activities and communications.

The role manages a budget of nearly $1 million and ensures consistent brand experience across all events, serving as a key IMC partner for this high-impact, highly visible channel.

What we're looking for

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required (Marketing, Communications, Business, Sciences)

  • Experience: 10 years of events experience preferred for management, marketing, communications, or related agency experience with a successful track record in event organization, coordination and execution

  • Experience working with biotechnology, pharma, life sciences, or advanced technology businesses/products strongly preferred

  • Global experience is a plus

  • Practical hands-on event experience required (translate strategies into concrete actions and tactics)

  • Strong organizational & project management skills within a matrix organization

  • Solid business acumen and understanding of how various event formats best achieve business and corporate objectives

  • Strong ability to build productive relationships and lead development of events planning protocols and execution through interactions and partnership with diverse internal and external business partners, including company senior leadership across a variety of functions and geographies.

  • Highly organized self-starter with enthusiasm for creative work and ability to handle simultaneous projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills plus a highly energetic personality

  • Operates with a proactive mindset and be geared toward collaborative problem-solving

  • Amenable to ambiguity and able to see past today; can adjust to meet market demands and business realities with creativity

  • Passionate about creating best-in-class brand experiences and keen on continuous improvement

  • Travel internationally and domestically 10-15%

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Develop and lead the integrated strategy for industry events, aligning with bioscience production segment goals and commercial/marketing objectives.

  • Define event selection criteria, target audience strategy, and success metrics.

  • Collaborate with the Shows & Events Center of Excellence (COE), the execution arm, for effective event execution.

  • Lead cross-functional planning sessions with sales, product management, and commercial leaders.

  • Integrate event planning with campaign calendars and broader marketing initiatives.

  • Drive pre-, during-, and post-event engagement strategies across digital, content, and brand teams.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance event impact through thought leadership, audience targeting, and data capture.

  • Develop project plans to deliver key event milestones and manage all related tactical activities.

  • Prepare executive and stakeholder briefings and ensure alignment on strategic and execution goals.

  • Partner with internal teams and external agencies to create event content, assets, and sales enablement tools.

  • Ensure alignment with Strategic Marketing to incorporate business inputs into event messaging.

  • Oversee budget planning and management aligned to event priorities and deliverables.

  • Ensure compliance with internal event processes for cost-effective planning and execution.

  • Manage lead generation activities and post-event communications in collaboration with sales and lead management teams.

  • Track and analyze event performance using surveys, metrics, and reporting tools.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$102,200.00 - $170,300.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
