Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • The Director of Marketing, New Product Planning has primary responsibility for the development of pre-launch marketing materials, as well as the plans and policies related to the ("in-line") marketing activities.

  • Ensures strategic understanding of customer insight and applies customer knowledge to marketing strategies in alignment with brand objectives.

  • Responsibilities include pre-launch brand preparations to ensure a strong go-to-market strategy, inclusive but not limited to market shaping, positioning, forecasting, advocacy & KOL engagement, patient & market access strategy, sales force positioning, media & digital marketing initiatives, PR activities, patient advocacy, third party relationships, advisory boards, KOL development, etc.

  • Supports the identification and assessment of marketplace and industry data to accurately diagnose business strengths and opportunities; identifies key issues and develops strategies and plans in support of a successful launch.

  • Assists in developing and leading implementation of the New Product Commercialization team's process.

  • Partners cross-functionally across the organization to ensure the implementation of a holistic and strong launch plan with sales, finance, regulatory, legal, medical, marketing analytics, digital marketing, PR, etc. Close oversight of this cross-functional team will ensure materials are delivered on time for Launch Planning Meetings, POAs, etc.

  • Prioritizes resource allocation, deploys resources strategically and monitors budgets to ensure execution and efficient use of resources.

  • Partnering with agency teams to prepare plans, budgets and timelines providing clear expectations, guidance, and feedback, ensuring excellent execution of key tactics and deliverables.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree required. An MBA is preferred. 5-7 years' experience in pharmaceutical marketing with pre-launch experience, early life cycle brand management in both HCP & Consumer, and a strong knowledge in sales or related fields. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

  • Strong experience & proven success with taking large volumes of promotional materials efficiently and effectively through a MLR process is required.

  • Demonstrated success developing and executing life cycle and launch plans for prescription pharmaceutical brands.

  • Strong experience with sales and marketing, plus building relationships and professional advocacy amongst OBGYNs, NP/PAs, and PCPs.

  • Experience with implementing effective strategies in digital, multi-channel marketing, loyalty programs, as well as experience with DTC campaigns (including concepting, production, talent management, and Media planning and buying).

  • Experience with effective strategies for non-personal promotion such as PR, Social Media, Digital channels, Point-of-Care Channels, etc.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory guidelines, compliance, and promotional policies.

  • Ability to build and lead effective cross-functional teams and work across multiple stakeholders required.

  • Must possess strong analytical skills, creative and critical thinking skills, clear communication skills - both verbal and written, strong interpersonal skills, and financial/budgetary/forecasting acumen.

  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents. Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.

  • Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The salary range for this position is $112,000 - $236,000.
