This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ office near Portland, Oregon. The expectation is for employees to be in-office 3 days or more per week, depending on business need. This in-office expectation is subject to change at business discretion.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Director, Product is a key leader in the Product Creation organization for the Columbia Sportswear brand. In this role, you are responsible for leading a team of sportswear product line managers in creating global long-term and seasonal product strategies aligned with company growth objectives.

You will lead the sportswear PLM team, inclusive of all sportswear categories, in the development of seasonal line plans while ensuring successful Go-to-Market activities globally in partnership with Product Design and Development. Your ability to lead, influence, and align cross-functional global teams to develop and drive a unified vision of the product line that meets the needs of consumers while driving profitable growth will be crucial to your success in this role.

HOWYOU'LLMAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • You will work directly with the Chief Product Officer and other key stakeholders to develop a mid- and long-term strategy for sportswear globally

  • You will be responsible for the execution of strategy for sportswear globally, partnering with merchandising and consumer insights to understand the competitive landscape, market share, and future white space opportunities. You will share the strategy cross-functionally and gain support from key stakeholders in Design, Development, Finance, Planning, Marketing, Sales, and Manufacturing to ensure company priorities are aligned

  • You will provide vision and guidance to the team on the development of seasonal line planning, including big ideas, growth drivers, and competitive pricing analysis that align with the business's strategic direction and result in the meeting or exceeding of revenue and productivity metrics

  • Lead the sportswear PLM team across all global waypoints and Go-to-Market activities. Ensuring that activities meet all calendar deliverables and deadlines defined by the brand's master calendar

  • Support the individual development of team members' needs, ensuring the success of the team. You will coach managers and ensure that managers provide all team members with timely feedback and development conversations that support career growth. Provide individual and team recognition as well as constructive and courageous feedback

  • Play a leading role for cross-functional product teams. Provide leadership and vision, while working with other functional leaders to ensure teams are executing on the strategic direction and priorities of the business, and holding teams accountable

  • Provide commercial support for the US marketplace. Help create marketplace segmentation that maximizes business opportunities across Wholesale, DTC, and eCommerce channels in the US marketplace. Partner with Sales leadership to ensure full alignment in product and pricing architecture that reflects the relevant marketplace. Ensure team support of the Sales team's efforts in creating sell-in assets, attending pre-line and other key-account meetings to represent product assortment

YOU ARE

  • Deeply knowledgeable about the apparel product creation process

  • Known for your ability to influence and bring multiple disparate stakeholders into alignment on product line vision

  • A strategic thinker and adept problem solver

  • A strong people leader

YOUHAVE

  • 10+ years of functional experience in apparel product creation and leading teams of product line managers

  • Bachelors or master's degree, or applicable certification or equivalent experience

  • The ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 25% of the time
