The Position

NeuroImmunology Operations Manager

The NeuroImmunology (NI) Squad sets the U.S. Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) strategy for OCREVUS in multiple sclerosis and other Neurology pipeline assets as they approach US Commercialization. Delivering on the vision and ambitions of the NeuroImmunology Squad to meet the needs of patients and other customers will require strategic and coordinated operations across multiple stakeholders.

The NeuroImmunology Operations Manager plays the vital and influential role in helping develop and shape operations, communications, and systems health of the Squad & Network, as a key partner to the Chief of Staff and Director of Administration & Operations to drive the execution of high-priority, cross-functional business initiatives across Commercial, Medical, Access, and other Portfolio teams. This function-agnostic position provides broad visibility and impact, enabling leadership to achieve cross-functional priorities with precision and speed. This role is critical to achieving our long-term Squad outcomes and supports efforts on our pathway to Building our Future Together.

In addition to simplifying operations, driving alignment, and building scalable processes across an evolving and matrixed organization across the NeuroImmunology Network, this role balances strategic breadth with executional depth, requiring comfort with ambiguity and strong organizational acumen. While not a formal leadership role, it provides indirect influence and hands-on operational execution across business-critical initiatives. The role is suited for a high-performing individual contributor ready to operate closely with senior leadership and scale cross-functional efforts. The NI Operations Manager, alongside the Administrative Business Partners, acts as a pivotal "builder" and "connector," serving as the central hub of the Squad and Network alongside the Director of NI Operations and Administration.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the right-hand execution lead to the NI Operations and Administration Director, as well as the NI squad and network

  • Partner with NI Operations Director to act as conduit for field and home office connection and collaboration. Manage and execute coordination of touch points through various field activation teams and councils

  • Orchestrate and execute network meetings (i.e. Network calls, Commercial calls, NFM, etc.)

  • Support development and execution of engagement strategies to further develop team culture

General Project Management:

  • Deliver consistent and high quality project management services to enable team and project success by being strategic in project planning, team management and process management.

  • Support key stakeholders and leaders in cross-functional project teams and initiatives; helping the overall business of Genentech to continuously evolve, improve and excel.

  • Executes on operations initiatives, can serve to influence and champion programs or ideas across CMG, and is influential in coaching and collaborating with senior leadership to achieve objectives.

  • Provide operational support for customer- or patient-focused business priorities and lead team to support these efforts as well

Outcomes/CMG Strategic Initiatives Champion:

  • Partner across local operations network to ensure effective and coordinated customer and employee experience

  • Collaborate with network operations partners to meet portfolio business needs

  • Steward of CMG Mission and Operating Principles

Processes and Procedures:

  • Contribute to fit-for-purpose business/financial planning and people practices

  • Support planning and facilitation of meetings; contribute to agenda development, meeting facilitation with a focus on adopting agile practices, and capture and follow-up on action items as needed

  • Support improvement and innovation strategies or proposals to support the overall objectives and long-term goals of the organization

Key Capabilities / Competencies / Skills Required

  • Effectively and courageously inspire and mobilize the organization with direct and indirect authority

  • Track-record of teamwork and collaboration skills; creating and leveraging a large personal network across organizational silos to understand needs of the business and contribute where appropriate

  • Ability to understand business priorities and design/adapt operational needs accordingly

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Skilled in project management & Operational execution; the capability to both gain and apply knowledge of fundamental project/operations management processes, methodologies and tools & techniques and ability to adapt them to organization. Capability to understand formal and informal organizational structures.

  • The willingness and ability to change one's approach to project management and/or course of action in response to business needs.

  • Planning skills: from meta to micro. The capability to create and deliver such things as great meeting and communication plans, statements of work, estimates, timelines, resource plans, briefs, summaries, and contracts is critical. The capability to find ways to do all that you need to do as well and as efficiently as possible is paramount.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ years of project or operations management experience, at least some of which has been gained in the pharmaceutical industry with particular emphasis/exposure to access, commercial and medical functions/teams

  • Excellent organizational skills (attention to detail, handling and prioritization multiple priorities, managing tight timelines)

  • Strong communication skills, both in writing and through presentation

  • Ability to connect with people at all levels in a professional and mature manner

  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities; adapt and respond to changes in a positive and thoughtful manner

Location: This is an SSF home-based position; full-time remote work is not available for this position, relocation assistance is not provided for this position

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of CA is $89,500 - $166,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
