Mott MacDonald is in the market for a Structural Engineer to join our growing transportation team in one of our Florida locations: Delray, Jacksonville, Panama City, Pensacola, and Tampa. This team member specializes in bridge design but may also work in a variety of structural fields including buildings and miscellaneous structures for transportation, water-wastewater, marine and energy.

Responsibilities of the position will include:



  • Performs structural analysis and design of bridges and other structures using industry-standard analysis and design software programs



  • Have working knowledge using MicroStation and LEAP bridge design software





  • Plan creation, design, and checking for conventional bridge projects





  • Assists in preparing and modifying reports, studies, preliminary designs, and detailed designs with all phases of bridge design







    • Projects will involve a variety of superstructure, substructure, and foundation types







  • Assists in the preparation of quantity take-offs/calculations, preconstruction unit cost development, and cost estimates/engineer's estimates for projects





  • Have working knowledge in design of concrete, steel, concrete masonry, and timber as well as spread and pile foundations and retaining/sheet pile walls





  • Have working knowledge of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials LRFD Bridge Design Specifications



We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:



  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program





  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in bridge design





  • Possess Engineer in Training or FE Certification or Professional Engineer license





  • Proven technical writing and communication skills





  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including organization and attention to detail






  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required for this position
