Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Technical Trainer (Electrics) to join our Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, AL.

The Technical Trainer II is responsible for supporting both delivery and the project management of the technical training program. Additionally, this position will support projects to improve the overall effectiveness of the technical training program, such as ongoing training material review, training solution updates, and learning delivery improvements.

Nearby on 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges:

Primary Responsibilities:

Technical Training setup and deployment 65 %

  • Deliver technical and practical training courses.

  • Support regular updates of training content to ensure technical compliance.

  • Support the technical training program and ensure project execution On-Time/On-Quality/On-Cost.

  • Control and report out on the training delivery status to customers and to the organization.

  • Lead by example the Airbus Values (Respect, Teamwork, Customer Focus, Reliability, Creativity and Integrity) and ensure consistent adherence in the learning environment.

  • Manage learning and performance of the employees in the learning environment.

  • Manages complex training improvement projects in collaboration with colleagues in the Airbus Academies and Partner training centers.

  • Support audits through review and update of training content and implements changes into the training environment.

2. Technical Training Expert 20 %

  • Provides support for on-the-job (OJT) training.

  • Management of risks & opportunities / Changes.

  • Supports projects in the FAL, Flightline and Delivery Center in collaboration with counterparts in Europe and Canada.

  • Preserves a high standard of technical knowledge among the workforce in a context of mobility, turn over and integration of new technicians.

  • Ensures fulfillment of legal and airworthiness requirements to insure Operation, such as demonstration of compliance for the maintenance of the POA.

3. Process Improvement 10 %

  • Drives training process improvement in the FAL, Flightline and Delivery Center to ensure alignment with processes being deployed.

  • Help production and support functions to increase productivity.

  • Incorporates Airbus Operating System (AOS) lean manufacturing processes into the training environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

Other duties as assigned: 5 %

  • Assist with resolution of production problems.

Your boarding pass:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related aviation field, or equivalent experience is required.

  • 7 years of experience in aviation manufacturing or assembly environment, specifically related to curriculum being taught.

  • 1 yr experience in training delivery or in leading and directing groups - required.

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate is desired.

  • Knowledge of basic Production and Quality rules in aviation is required.

  • Solid experience in Project Management.

  • Ability to moderate technical decisions based on solution analysis and risk evaluation.

  • Experience in working in an intercultural environment.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Advanced knowledge in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge in Smartsheets.

  • Knowledge in SAP preferred.

  • Travel required: 10 % Domestic and International.

  • Able to make decisions to support best teaching practices.

  • Able to make independent decisions to effectively run classroom settings.

  • This role requires communication with internal customers including but not limited to team members attending training courses, and various departments to stay up to date on training requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions

  • Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.

  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.

  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.

  • Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.

  • Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs/9kg.

  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas.

  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings.

  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.

  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.

  • Travel: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time.Able to work outside in hangers in changing locations.

  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flightline and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
