The QC Sample Submission Associate will coordinate and perform a variety of sample handling and standard handling tasks, including sample receipt, storage oversight, inventory management, and distribution in support of on-time laboratory testing. The role will also include controlled temperature storage unit routine maintenance and monitoring to ensure each is operating within an acceptable range. Complies with all SOPs, GMPs, GDPs and industry appropriate laboratory safety and quality standards. Must be able to work overnight shift and weekends.

With support from other coordinators and management:

  • Performance of a variety of sample submission tasks (receipt into the appropriate system and storage location, inspection of sample/labeling, maintain storage inventory accuracy, distribution, and discard, etc.)
  • Responds to environmental unit alarms and participates in on-call responsibilities.
  • Supports routine maintenance such as execution of storage unit work-orders (e.g. defrosts, cleanings, inventory checks)
  • Performs work assignments accurately and in a timely and safe manner, following GMPs and all environmental, health, and safety principles.
  • Organizes and allocates laboratory samples, standards and solutions to support laboratory release, stability, in-process, and other routine and non-routine QC testing.
  • Works independently across groups such as QC, Production, Warehouse, and external partners
  • Participates in laboratory investigations, problem solves, deviations, CAPAs planning and implementation, and self-inspection requirements.
  • Authors, reviews, and revises SOP's/forms, as necessary, in support of periodic review, CAPAs, and continuous improvement.
  • Laboratory upkeep and maintenance (5S ownership, escalation of problems and follow-through to resolution, upholding inspection-ready lab)
  • Development of smart solutions to problems enabling standardization, efficiency, and right-first-time
  • Must be able to work overnight shift and weekends following training (day shift hours first couple of months).

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, cGMPs, quality control, and compliance to established processes and procedures
  • 1+ years of experience with laboratory or production and sample/materials management

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Bachelor of Science
  • Biopharmaceutical sample handling experience, sample/material receipt and inventory management
  • System experience - SAP, Labware/LIMS, MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Working knowledge of cGXP, ICH guidelines, FDA, USP/EP/JP, and data integrity guidelines and regulations
