Forvis Mazars LLP is seeking an Audit Senior Associate at its New York, NY location.
Job Description:
Collaborate in the preparation of consolidation packages for Groups of companies and performs the transformation of financial statements from GAAP to IFRS. Utilizes technical expertise to assist internal teams and clients; Ensures deliverables are client ready requiring minimal changes (partner/QC); Identifies, manages, and mitigates issues and risks; ensures the quality of deliverables; Delivers work as a Subject Matter Expert, when necessary. Supervise audit engagements and oversees the compliance of rules encompassing the details, complexities, and legalities of business and corporate accounting. Understand engagement economics and managing to a budget; Oversee the development of go-to market solutions and capabilities; Demonstrates contribution to best practices; Utilize industry experience to ensure all relevant risks are addressed in a timely and efficient manner. Work closely with other senior level professionals to design the audit approach for our clients taking into consideration appropriate client sensitivities, anticipating client needs and creating appropriate response through planning, execution, and follow-up. Gain a comprehensive understanding of clients' operations, processes, and business objectives. Review and evaluate financial risk, reporting and internal controls. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations. Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems, and adapt the audit approach to the changing client environment. Design and implement technical solutions that improve client financial management activities. Advise on the validity of financial statements, business critical information and processes determined during the audit. Train, mentor and supervise other Audit Staff and Seniors on the audit process and assess the performance of audit staff for engagement reviews. Actively teach others on-the-job; review work timely leading to improved performance; Understand what motivates each team member to achieve highest and best use; Strive to include others in client meetings and relationships; Deploy teams to achieve development needs without compromising quality; Delegate appropriate level of decision-making responsibility. Keep engagement managers and partners informed of the status of all engagements and any issues identified that may impact the client. Maintain a good, professional working relationship with clients to enhance client to ensure that there is a thorough understanding of Forvis Mazars LLP's business operations, processes, and functions. Lead in the planning, execution, reporting and completion of financial audits of assigned manufacturing, distribution, and consumer products clients. Work with other audit professionals to identify and resolve client issues discovered during the audit. Must pass the CPA exam or become CPA eligible after onboarding. Telecommuting permitted. Must live within normal commuting distance of Forvis Mazars LLP's office in New York, NY. Requires up to 50% domestic travel.
Minimum Requirements:
Position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in any field. Position requires two (2) years of experience in any job title/occupation/position providing financial audit services in a CPA firm or professional services practice. Position requires two years of (2) experience with each of the following: developing and executing audit strategies for manufacturing, distributions and consumer products clients; dealing with a broad spectrum of companies from start-ups to multi-national companies; US GAAP or IFRS; US GAAS or IAS standards; Microsoft Office applications; ProSystem Engagement, CaseWare or other audit preparation software programs; and developing and sustaining profitable client relationships. Position requires one (1) year of experience leading teams and mentoring other audit staff on client engagements.
Salary: $118,810.00 to $128,810.00

New York City Pay Transparency
Pursuant to the pay transparency laws of New York State and other local ordinances within the state including (but not limited to) New York City, the salary range displayed is for the New York markets. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Total compensation and benefits consist of salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. Forvis Mazars reserves the right to make changes to the salary range based on business needs.
