Join our team as a Wastewater Technician at the Fresno Anaerobic Treatment System (FATS) facility, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimized performance and regulatory compliance of our wastewater, biogas, and cogeneration systems. We are looking for a dedicated individual to monitor operations, conduct laboratory tests, and support maintenance activities while embracing our culture of continuous improvement through Lean, Six-Sigma, Shingo, and World Class Maintenance practices.

As a Wastewater Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring automated controls, maintaining electronic control and flow devices, and managing wastewater flows. You will learn to efficiently operate various FATS systems, including pumps, valves, bio-gas compressors, and the cogeneration system. Your role will also involve collecting water samples, conducting laboratory tests, and performing daily monitoring to ensure regulatory compliance.

In addition to operational duties, you will support and coordinate maintenance activities, maintain inventory levels using the SAP ARIBA platform, and monitor tank levels. You will also be involved in sludge treatment processes and ensure the effective chemical treatment of water to meet all state and federal standards. Your role will require you to complete various reports and maintain daily operations logs, while also supporting World Class Maintenance initiatives.

Shift:

  • Standard - Swing: Monday - Friday, 3:30p - Midnight
  • Harvest(Aug - Oct) - Swing: Rotating 6 days, 3:30p - Midnight

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issue equivalency certificate.

  • Required to have 1 year of full-time experience as an Operator in Training (OIT) at a government or privately operated wastewater facility; OR,1 year full-time experience at the Gallo Wastewater facility as an Operator in Training (OIT); OR, 1 year of full-time experience collecting and monitoring data such as pH, alkalinity, conductivity, temperature, (COD) chemical oxygen demand, (BOD) biochemical oxygen demand, (TSS) Total Suspended Solids, in an industrial, manufacturing or agricultural environment.

  • Required to work with caustic chemicals to execute some job functions.

  • Required to work day, swing or graveyard shifts.

  • Required to carry, lift, or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Required to climb and work at elevated heights of forty (40) feet.

  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.

  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.

  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $29.86 - $40.34 / hour
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
