THE POSITION

Washington County's Facilities Division takes great pride in the planning, construction, maintenance, and repair of nearly 45 County-owned buildings (over 1.8 million square feet), grounds, parks, and associated hard-scape. We are looking for a Facilities Electronics Technician to join our skilled team in providing physical and electronic security support. The Facilities Electronics Technician duties consist of all things low voltage and will perform advanced-level development, installation, maintenance, and repair of various electronic equipment and systems, such as intrusion detection, fire alarm and evacuation, electronic signage, duress (panic) alarm, public address (paging), building management, and various other electronic systems.

The person in this position will receive general direction regarding the scope and approach to projects or assignments and will operate with a high degree of independence and professional judgment to solve highly complex problems in the performance of assigned duties. Work is generally performed during standard business hours; however, this position will be required to be on-call, work weekends and evenings, and may be called back to work during emergencies.

The Ideal candidate will possess a Bosch Certification and have familiarity with Symmerty access controls, however an opportunity to obtain certification and training will be provided. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to learn through on the job training closed-circuit television (CCTV). They will have experience in repairing, installing and servicing electronic building equipment as mentioned above. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • An Associate's Degree in electronics technology or a related field and two (2) years of experience in repairing, installing, and servicing electronic building equipment and systems similar to those in the required duties; OR
  • Four (4) years of experience in repairing, installing, and servicing electronic building equipment and systems similar to those in the required duties.
Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities and Specialty Requirements:
  • Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and an acceptable driving record.
  • Possession of a valid Limited Energy Class A Technician license issued by the State of Oregon.
  • Will require successful completion of a criminal background investigation conducted by the Sheriff's Office.

    5. Conditional Offer of Appointment: Human Resources will conduct a salary analysis for the successful candidate(s) and extend an offer of appointment.
    6. Post-Offer Check: The selected finalist(s) for this position must be able to pass a thorough background investigation conducted by the Sheriff's Office. The background Investigation for this position typically take 8-12 weeks to complete so you will want to plan accordingly. The information that will be required when you complete the Personal History Statement includes, but is not limited to:
        • Employment Information (past 10 years or back to age 17; 3 co-workers will be requested from each past employer)
        • Residential Information (past 10 years or back to age 17)

    7. Start Date: A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met
