Primary function of a Assistant Project Manager:

Provide overall management direction assistance to project manager for one or more jobsites. Also provide technical engineering information to company supervision to insure work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instruction applicable to one or more disciplines.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Project Management Assistance



  • Assist Project Manager with preparation of the billing of material.
  • Assist with the preparation and submittal of all documentation and records required for change orders.
  • Assist with the analysis of cost for extra work.
  • Assist in the overall coordination of the project including subcontractors.
  • Assist with all other daily Project Management duties as necessary.
  • Review the weekly Labor reports. Advise project superintendent, with input from the Project Manager, on crew sizes, production rates, methods of construction, sizing of equipment, etc. Know your costs.
  • Assist with the management of the project schedule.


Engineering Responsibilities



  • Have a thorough knowledge of job specifications. Communicate in a timely manner to the engineer and/or owner any changes in the scope of the original contract. Address changes in scope on a timely and effective basis. Prepare change orders and submit.
  • Expedite the material procurement, approval, and delivery process as necessary to promote accurate and efficient construction of the project.
  • Prepare and track all necessary submittals.
  • Obtain required material certifications.
  • Order necessary materials and supplies.
  • Maintain project files, current drawings, and production records.
  • Approve receiving invoices.
  • Process vendor and subcontractor invoices. Understand and assist in the approval and development of schedule of values. Approve payment to subcontractors, material suppliers, and miscellaneous invoices in a timely manner.
  • Write and maintain subcontracts and purchase agreements.
  • Insures that submittals are being reviewed properly and submitted in a timely fashion. Expedite and track equipment and material delivery ahead of schedule.


Implementation



  • Create and maintain positive relationships with owners and engineers
  • Complete projects within time and budget;
  • Optimize project cash flow;
  • Create and maintain positive subcontractor relations;
  • Accurate and timely cost accounting and forecasting;
  • Identify, pursue and recover fair compensation for all changes in scope;
  • Accurate and timely procurement


Safety:



  • Monitor the project/projects under his or her responsibility so that a safe work place is being maintained and CCC's safety policy is being administered.
  • Advise the Project Superintendent/Manager of ways to improve job site safety.

  • Train and develop employees reporting to you as well as those working around you. Take an active interest in people. Expresses confidence in subordinates. Prepare development plan for subordinates.



Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:



  • 4 year engineering degree or equivalent plus experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance and management.
  • Familiar with Primavera.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a valid, non-restrictive driver's license and meet Crowder standards for Driver's Authorization.
