JOB PURPOSE:

The Crisis Peer Navigator provides support to clients facing mental health crises at Haven for Hope, mainly during evenings and weekends. This role helps connect clients to resources that aid their recovery and transition back into the community. The Navigator works with a team to help clients achieve personal goals and improve their lives.


Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Help clients in crisis find the support they need.

* Organize and lead wellness, employment, and recovery groups.

* Offer social support through the Recovery Education Center.

* Advocate for clients to get benefits and entitlements.

* Connect clients to recovery and housing resources.

* Help clients develop social skills to engage in the community.

* Keep accurate records and progress notes.

* Stay informed about mental health trends and resources.

* Participate in job-related training.

* Perform other tasks as needed.

* Other duties as assigned.

* Demonstrate Exceptional customer service, in Everything you do, by placing the child, family, Veteran or client first to support our mission to "Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities."

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Personal experience with homelessness, mental health, or substance abuse challenges. Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE: At least one year of experience working with people facing homelessness, mental health, trauma, or substance abuse.

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.

LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
