Tuesday - Saturday 8:00am - 5:00pm. This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. Required to work at least three (3) days per week in the office. The expected remote work schedule for this position will be based upon the needs of the department.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of academic exam proctoring for Rio Salado College's Online and Distance Learning students, to include Rio Salado Virtual Proctoring (RVP), the college's live virtual proctoring system. This position serves as a lead worker, coordinating the workflow and scheduling of other Student Services Specialists and part-time technicians. This position is responsible for proctoring, scheduling, coordinating virtual proctoring sessions, and screening all partner proctors for Rio Salado students. This position will also collaborate directly with faculty, leadership, and external departments to ensure proctoring processes promote student success while also support academic integrity standards.

Essential Functions

30% - Coordinates, proctors, and schedules all aspects of Distance Learning Proctoring to include Rio Salado Virtual Proctoring (RVP), ensuring a smooth and secure testing experience for all students; provides excellent customer service and direct support to Distance Learning students, faculty, team members, external departments, and partner institutions through in-person interactions, phone, meeting platforms, chat, and email correspondence; administers assessments in compliance with established procedures and policies, ensuring secure and standardized testing conditions ;serves as a certified proctor using a variety of exam administration software and applications to deliver and monitor assessments effectively; acts as a subject matter expert in all areas of proctoring.

30% - Serves as a lead for the virtual proctoring team; coordinates workflow and the implementation of Rio Salado Virtual Proctoring (RVP) policies and procedures; sets exam sessions and team member schedules, resolves escalated issues, and provides backup support when other proctors are unavailable or need assistance; supports team and staff members by troubleshooting complex technical or procedural issues to ensure uninterrupted exam delivery; participates in the training and support of proctors and team members, sharing best practices, procedural updates, and technical guidance related to virtual proctoring tools and platforms; utilizes platforms such as ConexED to build and manage appointment schedules; actively implements and enhances systems for scheduling and delivering virtual proctoring services, with a focus on improving efficiency and expanding access and exam offerings.

15% - Prepares and maintains reports related to Rio Salado Virtual Proctoring (RVP), proctoring activity, and statistical data; interprets data trends and utilizes various systems to develop efficient reporting methods and enhance virtual proctoring procedures; stays current on best practices, compliance standards, and innovations in virtual proctoring to support continuous improvement; collaborates with faculty, academic departments, and leadership to ensure virtual proctoring processes align with course requirements and uphold academic integrity.

15% - Researches and documents testing discrepancies, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and in alignment with academic integrity policies; verifies and approves proctors in accordance with established guidelines and institutional protocols; sets up online testing sessions and develops clear, user-friendly instructional guides and resources for proctors.

10% - Authors and delivers original presentations on Rio Salado Virtual Proctoring (RVP) procedures to team members, faculty, external departments, and stakeholders; creates training videos and instructional resources to support student understanding and staff development related to virtual proctoring processes; other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience working in a Testing Center environment administering online exams and providing technical troubleshooting.
B. Experience administering exams using remote proctoring systems, such as Rio Salado Virtual Proctoring (RVP) or similar live online proctoring platforms.
C. Experience using appointment scheduling platforms (ex: ConexED) to build, manage, and communicate test session schedules.
D. Experience collaborating with outside departments, faculty, and/or outside institutions.
E. Experience training and monitoring the work of others.
F. Experience interpreting data and preparing reports.
G. Bachelor's Degree

Special Working Conditions

  • This position is located at the Rio Salado College Tempe Testing Center, located at 2323 W. 14th Street, Tempe, AZ 85281. Occasional travel to other Testing Center locations may be required for training and coverage purposes.

  • The position's hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 8am-5pm. May require occasional early morning and evening shifts.

  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen

  • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.

    Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
