Position Description

  • The Human Resources Generalist serves as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders across the organization.
  • This role guides leadership through HR best practices, supports performance and conduct management, employee engagement, workplace investigations, and change initiatives while ensuring compliance with all applicable State and Federal employment laws and policies.
  • In alignment with Company mission and values, the Human Resources Generalist promotes Santee Cooper's mission and values by providing solutions-oriented support.
  • The position requires strong judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to split time equally between Cross Generating Station and Winyah Generating Station.


  • Essential Tasks:
  • Collaborates with managers and employees to address workplace issues, improve team dynamics, and support a positive, productive work environment.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to managers on employee performance, behavioral concerns, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensures consistency and compliance in documentation.

  • Advises employees and supervisors on HR policies and ensure adherence to federal, state, local employment laws and company policies.
  • Partners with legal and compliance teams as needed.

  • Analyzes employee relations trends and issues to identify opportunities for improvement and inform policy or procedural changes.
  • Responds to inquiries from government agencies, such as unemployment claims, and support accurate recordkeeping and documentation practices.
  • Partners with other HR functions (e.g., Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Compensation) and internal departments to ensure a unified approach to employee experience and relations.
  • Participates in the review and improvement of employee relations procedures and tools to enhance fairness, accessibility, and consistency.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all employee-related matters and ensure compliance with relevant privacy laws, internal policies, and ethical standards.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.


  • Compensation Information:
    $53,400 - $66,730 (min. - mid.)

    HR Generalist II
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field + several years of progressively responsible experience in employee relations or HR, including conducting investigations and supporting leaders.


  • Compensation Information:
    $66,390 - $82,980 (min. - mid.)
