CNC Lathe Machinist

Are you an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist looking to join a company that values precision, safety, and a clean, climate-controlled work environment? Staffmark is seeking a skilled machinist in Houston, TX to join a high-performing team operating state-of-the-art CNC equipment.

Pay: $23 - $25/hour (based on experience)

Shift: 3rd Shift | Monday - Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

In this role, you'll set up and operate CNC lathes, working with machines equipped with 6" to 50" chucks. You'll be responsible for your own setups, inspections, and documentation while maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC lathes
• Transfer CNC programs via DNC system
• Read and interpret complex blueprints
• Perform in-process inspections and make necessary adjustments
• Adjust speeds and feeds for various materials
• Maintain accurate production records and complete required paperwork

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of recent CNC lathe machining experience
• Skilled with controls and editing programs
• Strong understanding of tool offsets, speeds, feeds, and work shift adjustments
• Proficient in shop math and basic computer systems
• Comfortable lifting 10-35 lbs and standing/walking for extended periods
• Able to differentiate colors and perform repetitive hand/arm movements
• Experience working in a clean, air-conditioned, safety-first environment
• Must wear appropriate PPE, including safety-toe shoes and eye/ear protection
• Valid driver's license required
