Medical Assistant - Pediatrics Chantilly, VA Pay From: $17 per hour MUST: Experienced Medical Assistant 1 plus years of experience as a Medical Assistant Must be Certified/Registered as a Medical Assistant Must have Pediatric experience Must have strong injections Must have experience working on EMR; knowledge of EClinical Works is preferred Must have knowledge of taking vitals Must have excellent writing and verbal skills Must have strong verbal and written communication skills Must have experience working in a fast-paced environment Must have experience working in a multi-physician practice CPR certified required High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred) DUTIES: Responsible for patient flow, physician assisting, instrument processing, telephone calls, phlebotomy and other clinical duties Prepare for the daily activities by checking schedules and preparing rooms for patient use i.e. clean, organize and stock rooms with necessary equipment and supplies Assist physicians with patient care and education Taking medical histories Recording vital signs Explaining treatment procedures to patients Preparing patients for examination Assisting the physician during the examination Administer patient immunization Order labs Phone triage Administer injections as ordered by providers Administer Vaccines for travel patients Tracks immunizations keeping statistics Updates immunization records Report to the clinical coordinator or practice administrator Perform nursing procedures under the supervision of a physician or physician assistant Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients chart Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant Ensure all related reports, labs, and information is filed is available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.) Other duties as assigned Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
