~ Per Diem / As Needed Position ~

Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) is required

Summary

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor II, working under their certification, provides treatment services to patients in the continuum of behavioral health services across they system and will have the opportunity to develop their skills and abilities while receiving mentorship and supervision from an experienced counselor. The Counselor will conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments, provide therapeutic interventions, and deliver direct patient care, ensure clinical records are accurate, collaborate with community treatment providers and internal team members, and participate in team meetings.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelors' Degree required. Psychology, social work, social and behavioral sciences, addiction counseling, mental health and human services, or related field preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: CADC or LADC from the respective licensing Board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR)
  3. Experience: Behavioral health experience working with or treating patients with substance use disorders, including internship prior to becoming a conditionally licensed clinician.
