We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our Maintenance department in Baltimore. This position supervises mechanics and housekeepers, maintains and secures the building and grounds, ensures the equipment and systems are in proper working condition, orders parts and supplies, trains staff, and collaborates with the Chief Engineer and General Manager on budgeting, equipment repairs, and capital purchases. The salary range for this position is between $62,700 and $90,000 per year based on experience. In addition, HCSC offers the following to all full-time employees:

What you will be doing:



  • Inspect the facility on a regular basis to ensure safe practices and safety policies are being followed; address safety concerns as they arise. Participate in safety committee meetings.
  • Ensure that all laundry equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Repair equipment as necessary.
  • Supervisor the activity of the mechanics and housekeepers, including performance and attendance. Adjust staffing requirements and provide task lists. Take action as necessary per HCSC Employee Handbook.
  • Supports and assists with development of training programs as they pertain to a specific department or across the organization, develops training checklist, and provides continuing education, and new employee and ongoing training initiatives.
  • Ensures that the Preventative Maintenance schedule is current and that assigned mechanics are completing PM as scheduled.
  • Responsible for maintaining necessary levels of inventories and ordering parts/supplies as needed.
  • Record utility (water, gas & electric) consumption on a daily basis.


What you will bring to the role:



  • A minimum of 2 years of practical experience or technical training in electrical/mechanical maintenance is required; 3 - 5 years is preferred.
  • Waste Water License and 3rd Grade Boiler Operator License required to be obtained within six (6) month of hire.
  • Understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and use of PPE preferred.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, and listening), organizational, and time management skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a bonus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A passion to work in a fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities to meet the needs of HCSC.



Additional information:

This position will be based out of the Baltimore facility and reports to the Chief Engineer. They will be responsible for working the following schedule:



  • Second Shift Monday - Friday 3:00 pm - 11:30pm


  • Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends is required.


  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screen are required.
