Marketing Manager, Asphalt

ROLE:

The Marketing Manager, Asphalt will be responsible for all asphalt sales including polymer modified asphalt (PMA) grades produced at the Great Falls, MT refinery. This role will also have oversight of the asphalt rail transloading facility. The main objective of this role is to maximize refinery netbacks through pricing, efficiencies, market forecasts and credit controls. This role will own the retail relationships with the Montana asphalt customers.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the retail asphalt sales and most of the wholesale asphalt sales.
• Maintain and grow customer relationships and customer service
• Represents Calumet at industry functions including The Rocky Mountain Asphalt User Producer Group, The Montana Contractors Association and the Asphalt Institute
• Determine bid pricing for Montana state highway lettings and contractor commercial projects
• Provide product guidance and training to customers. Works with transportation officials.
• Key member of the polymer purchasing team for PMA production
• Works with Refinery planning group to determine asphalt production slates
• Maintains updated book of committed projects for risk management purposes
• Develops marketing strategies to maximize value added asphalt volumes
• Manages accounts receivable with internal stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication or a related field or equivalent experience
• A Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is preferred
• 8+ years experience in a marketing role
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive profitability and business objectives
• Demonstrated ability to manage marketing budgets and deliver measurable results
• Minimum of 20% travel will be required
• Knowledge of asphalt and asphalt paving operations is preferred
