Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategy Execution Sr. Consultant to join our dynamic team in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership abilities, a strategic mindset, and the capability to communicate effectively with diverse teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful alignment and execution of our project portfolio to meet our organizational goals.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Portfolio Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive project portfolio strategy that aligns with the company's strategic goals and objectives. Conduct regular reviews and adjustments to ensure optimal portfolio performance.

  • Governance and Communication: Create, socialize, and facilitate governance forums and surrounding processes. Shape and drive related communications to ensure alignment with priorities and enable resource optimization across the division and organization.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with diverse teams, including senior executives, project managers, and other key stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure alignment and support for portfolio initiatives.

  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the project portfolio. Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize potential project disruptions and ensure successful project delivery.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor portfolio performance. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on portfolio status, including progress, risks, and opportunities.

  • Resource Allocation: Optimize the allocation of resources across the project portfolio to ensure efficient use of personnel, budget, and other resources. Identify and address resource constraints and conflicts.

  • Benefits Realization: Create, socialize, and report benefits realization to senior leaders to drive data-driven decision-making. Includes benefits realization maturation plan.

  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance portfolio management processes and methodologies. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in project portfolio management.

  • Mentoring Others: Provide mentoring and guidance within the strategy team to optimize team results and project flexibility, efficiency, and consistency. Maintain an understanding of market and enterprise strategies to promote the portfolio management discipline and best practices. Mentor associates within the team or contract resources.Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, project management, or a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in project portfolio management, with a proven track record of leading and managing complex projects.

  • Strategic Thinking: Excellent strategic planning and analytical skills. Ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions that align with organizational objectives.

  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, manage conflicts, and drive organizational change. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex information to a diverse audience, including senior executives and team members. Includes strong stakeholder management skills.

  • Problem-solving: Strong complex problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Ability to navigate and resolve complex issues and challenges within the project portfolio.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP) is preferred.

  • Experience management complex projects in the financial services industry.

*We will consider applicants at the P3 (internal title = Project/Program Management Consultant) and P4 (internal title = Project/Program Management Sr. Consultant) level for this position.

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$86,500.00 - $160,000.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
