Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: The Romesser Lab is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team studying therapy induced senescence and tumor immunology.

Role Overview

Dr. Paul Romesser's laboratory is recruiting a bold and innovative Postdoctoral Fellow to turn cellular senescence into a weaponized immunologic state against cancer. Rooted in rectal cancer-but engineered to translate across immunerefractory tumors-our program fuses immunocompetent mouse models, patientderived organoids, singlecell / spatial multiomics, and CRISPRbased functional genomics. You will drive NIH and foundationfunded projects that dissect the senescence-immune interface and fasttrack novel combination therapies toward firstinhuman trials, all within MSK's collaborative, technologyrich ecosystem.

Key Requirements:

PhD or MD/PhDin Cancer Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline
  • Hands on expertise in at least one of the following:
    • Immunocompetent mouse tumor models
    • Patientderived organoid culture and manipulation
    • Flow cytometry or advanced immune-profiling platforms
    • Singlecell or spatial omics
  • Computational proficiency-familiarity with R/Python for analysis of bulk, singlecell, or spatialomics data (or a strong willingness to learn).
  • Strong publication recordthat highlights independent thinking and problemsolving.
  • Excellent communication skills(written and oral) and a track record of productive collaboration within interdisciplinary teams.

Core Skills:

  • Experimental Design & Troubleshooting: Ability to conceptualize, execute, and optimize complex in vivo (mouse) and ex vivo (organoid) studies, including CRISPR perturbations and multiplex assays.
  • SingleCell & Spatial Multiomics: Competence in generating and/or analyzing scRNAseq and spatial transcriptomics data; comfortable using pipelines such as Seurat, Scanpy, or equivalent.
  • Data Analysis & Visualization: Fluency in R/Python for statistics, data integration, and productionquality figures that clearly communicate findings to diverse audiences.
  • Immunological Assays: Proficiency with flow cytometry, ELISA/LEGENDplex, functional Tcell or myeloid assays, and lymphoid and myeloid co-culture assays for dissecting tumor-immune interactions.
  • Scientific Communication & Leadership: Strong track record of manuscript preparation, conference presentations, and collaborative project management; ability to mentor junior trainees and foster an inclusive lab culture.
