We are looking for aSmelter Operatorto fillmultiple positionswith peoplewho are highly motivated to work in our Hot Metals department at the Rio Tinto Kennecott Utah Copper Smelter. Mining experience is not essential, we provide the training required. This is a great opportunity to work in an interesting field with a relatively small, close group of employees with an attractive lifestyle roster which consists of rotating 12-hour shifts. This role provides the ability to move up in pay with participating in Rio Tinto training qualifications. Reporting to theShift Supervisorand working in a diverse team, you will be trained to:
- Perform operating duties in the smelting process while working around hot furnaces and wearing proper PPE including full face respirators.
- Work safely following our standard operating procedures.

- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work wearing full face respirator all shift, if necessary.
- Minimum 18 years of age to align with Rio Tinto Safety Standards for this role
