POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Forecasting ensures our company's forecasting is set up to effectively meet the forecasting needs of the company and customers. The position will have strategic oversight of the forecasting team responsible for gathering customer provided forecast intelligence, estimating future product demand, supporting CPS bin management, and developing forecast models. This position works closely with sales, procurement, customers and several internal departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develop forecast planning systems to meet goals and improve customer forecast accuracy
  • Drive the team that supports forecasting and inventory planning meetings to assess potential sales forecasts and goals
  • Manages and Directs work of functional team, including hiring, corrective action, performance appraisals and pay review, budget and processes.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a large team, manage performance, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment in accordance to Wurth basic principles.
  • Implement training programs to ensure staff are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge, including new employee onboarding.
  • Manage workforce planning, staffing, and labor relations to meet operational requirements.
  • Develop, manage and mentor forecasting team.
  • Develop, direct execution and continuously improve departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
  • Conducts performance appraisals, develop performance goals and objectives for operations employees and monitor achievement of those goals while managing KPI's.
  • Selects, hires and trains employees, in tandem with HR.
  • Initiate programs or policies that maximize inventory turns, service degree and identify slow moving items
  • Monitor sales trends by revenue and number of touches for various customers.
  • Provide new business gap analysis from multiple data points
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies
  • Analyze data for consistency, accuracy and quality.
  • Troubleshoot issues threatening data integrity.
  • Collaborate with managers on process improvement, unique solutions, and opportunities to drive growth and improve efficiency.
  • Other duties may be assigned



QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES



  • College degree with emphasis in finance/accounting/business preferred, or equivalent 3 years of industry work experience
  • Experience in forecasting demand, inventory control and MRP management in an industrial distribution and APICS certification a plus
  • Oversee staffing/recruiting/training of direct reports, and understands big picture company goals and how they are supported by individual success
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and guidance to direct reports
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong understanding of inventory control/purchasing processes and procedures
  • Computer skills to effectively manage data such as Microsoft Office tools specifically Outlook, Word, and intermediate Excel, 4TELL and query writing skills
  • Technology aptitude to learn our inventory management platforms
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to gain cooperation in goal attainment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Ability to work in a self-directed work environment with a sense of urgency
  • Analytical ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to define goals, seek information, and make recommendations with minimal supervision



Pay: $100,000

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus. An incentive bonus, if any, depends on various factors such as organizational performance.
