FOX Corporation is looking for a Staff Android Engineer for its digital Product Engineering Ad Tech SDK team. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of Objective Oriented Programming and native Android application development Skills.

The FOX Monetization team builds and maintains display and video advertising and reporting applications for a variety of digital platforms using a number of technologies for multitude of FOX's consumer facing web sites and apps. The Monetization team seeks a talented Android Application Engineer to join our team in developing, maintaining, optimizing and implementation of new features to our advertising solutions.

A qualified candidate should feel comfortable working with a broad range of Native application technologies, possess a strong working knowledge of Android Frameworks, be proficient in Object oriented/Java programming, and be able to work with several internal teams and external partners. Should possess excellent debugging and problem-solving skills. Should be able to create functional applications that perfectly meet the needs of the product.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain, optimize and develop new features using GAM/IMA, FreeWheel and other Ad tech libraries for FOX's consumer facing Android applications to meet specific business requirements for video players, digital advertising and analytics.
  • Develop software that is modular, scalable, stable and optimized.
  • Cultivate subject matter expertise in the areas of online video advertising and become an expert in the latest video advertising technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and internal technology groups to focus on coding standards and best practices.
  • Integrate third party plug-ins and software components with FOX's consumer facing native applications.
  • Provide support for internal teams and external vendors utilizing supported platform components.
  • Take meetings with internal teams and external vendors/partners.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • BS/MS degree in computer science or software engineering.
  • Proven experience as an app developer.
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
  • The candidate must have interactive development experience, focused on native application programming.
  • Must have working knowledge of MVC frameworks, utility libraries, testing frameworks, build tools, code repositories, develop tools and CI tools.
  • Proficient in Java Programming.
  • Experience with Android SDK and frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Knowledge of Android back-end services.
  • React Native development experience.
  • Knowledge of Android's design principles and application interface guidelines.
  • Proficient in code versioning tools including Git.
  • Knowledge of Object-oriented programming libraries.
  • Experience with continuous integration.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Ad tech development experience is preferred

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $143,000.00-177,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
