Job Description: Airbus is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our Finance and Accounting team based in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will be in charge of compliance of accounting policies with US GAAP, IFRS and Airbus Group Accounting guidelines forAirbus Americas Inc and its subsidiaries in the North America Region, including fourteen legal entities throughout the Commercial, Helicopter and Defense and Space Divisions. You will also be responsible for coordinating all the accounting policies and the audit with the External Auditors, ensuring full alignment with the Airbus Group Team. Your Challenges: One Roof Technical Accounting Advisor: 60%
Serves as Technical Advisor Services on complex accounting topics requiring company policy or US GAAP and IFRS interpretation (e.g. unique, new, or non-standard events; analyzing business acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures..). Monitors emerging accounting guidance or trends, whether US GAAP, IFRS, or Airbus Group policy, to assess and communicate potential implications to appropriate stakeholders, in particular, sustainability. Partners with regional business operations as well as External Auditors to lead or actively support accounting research, policy development, special projects, or specific initiatives (e.g. accounting standard implementation, policy development, education, etc.) Financial Analysis and Assurance. Research unusual and complex accounting transactions, including new accounting pronouncements, business combinations, and determine and implement solutions. The incumbent will be an actor of the FAL Expansion project in Mobile, Alabama and business growth within the Region to provide accounting guidance to support financial and operational decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing company policies and procedures to maintain and protect company assets. Collaborating with and supporting the tax department for the accurate and timely delivery of key regulatory and compliance information including annual transfer pricing study as well as Airbus Group Technical Accounting team. Partner with key stakeholders to propose accounting guidance on sustainability projects and incentives. Facilitate and drive process standardization and optimization across US entities and lead the Accounting Forum for the Region. In this capacity, the job holder will be responsible for ensuring that the curriculum of the One Roof Accounting team is up to date and will coordinate with External Auditors any Educational programs as needed. The jobholder will manage participation portfolio by addressing when applicable impairment, dividends, investment anddivestment; Board conducted in line with Airbus governance requirements
2. Financial reporting & GL Accounting: 20%
Actively participate in monthly and quarterly close activities including reconciliations to support compliance and internal controls. Support monthly close by working closely with the controlling team and advice on corrections to ensure deadlines are met and provide support as needed. Support in the preparation of Financial statements including stand-alone and consolidated balance sheet, profit and loss and Cash Flow Statements in conformity with relevant Accounting policies for Statutory and Group Reporting. Support the accounting manager and staff, controlling and tax department on regular activities and exceptional: Annual audit, transfer pricing study, tax PBC, valuation studies, etc.) Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations.
3. Transformation projects: 20%
Contribute and lead the ESG reporting requirements and capabilities. Participate in department projects and/or cross-departmental projects. Act as a team member of the US One Roof Accounting Services and ensures full coordination with the Integrated Functions and Compliance manager as well as the One Roof and Reporting Manager. Ensures full alignment on accounting methodology applied within the group. Ensure implementation of SAP system enhancements and other financial tools that enhance operational effectiveness for Asset Management.
Your Boarding Pass:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field 8 + years of experience in external audit firms oraccounting departments in a commercial or industrial environment involving tight deadlines. Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS SAP, Google Suites, Excel Experience reviewing complex transactions including Lease Accounting, revenue recognition, acquisitions, divestitures and revenue contracts with customers. Excellent written and oral communication skills 10% Domestic and International travel Eligible for employment in the US
