Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Mathematics and Physics within the College of Arts and Sciences promotes North Carolina Central University's commitment to excellence in instruction, research, and service offering programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Science degree and the Master of Science degree each in mathematics and in physics. In addition, the Department offers all General Education Curriculum courses in mathematics as well as in physics. |
Primary Purpose of Position |
To perform the duties of
NCCU faculty at the rank of Lecturer. Primary duties include teaching
GEC mathematics and physics courses. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; excellent teaching skills; ability work both independently and collaboratively with others; strong knowledge base in mathematics
Ability to engage in effective and respectful communication both written and oral.
Ability to provide instruction in mathematics (at all levels including undergraduate and graduate) and lower division computational courses using evidence-based or research-based pedagogical instruction.
Ability to create a sustainable research program of interest funding agencies.
Ability to effectively interact with colleagues and supervise student researchers.
