HDR is seeking a Senior Transit Project Manager. This individual will lead and manage complex transit projects - including Bus, Bus Rapid Transit, Streetcar, Light Rail, Commuter Rail or Transit Support Facilities. The projects will range from planning and preliminary engineering through final design and construction support. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-profile transit infrastructure projects.
As a Senior Transit Project Manager, you'll be responsible for pursuing, scoping, planning, scheduling, managing, directing, and monitoring projects. Your work may also include supporting project management duties in delivering mega-transit projects or programs. These include design management, delivery management, or technical management roles. Additionally, you'll be expected to collaborate and coordinate with leadership, other project managers, and technical staff across HDR's global transit market sector. The ideal candidate must have a strong foundation in the transit industry, knowledge of client programs and experience managing multi-disciplinary project deliverables. This role will lead and support projects with the expectation that the candidate can travel to be in-person with clients and teams within North America.
In this role, we'll count on you to:
Be responsible for general project administration including Document Controls, Procurement, DBE/ADA Civil Rights, Project Controls and Risk Management
Develop work scopes and negotiate additional services contracts and contract changes for clients; coordinate and supervise engineering design activitiesPlan, organize, and manage capital project scopes, schedules, and budgets
Collaborate with HDR's national transit practice and contribute to business development, including proposal preparation, client engagement, and contract negotiation.
Coordinate with governmental and private agencies (stakeholders, cities, counties, DOT, utility companies, etc.) in the design and construction of transit projects
Manage and mentor project teams, providing guidance on technical approaches, quality assurance, and project delivery strategies.
Local, regional, state, and federal agencies, groups and organizations involved in transit planning and development
National, State and Local Laws, codes, regulations, and legal requirements related to public transportation
Traffic and transit signal priority (TSP) experience in order to work with department of transportations on behalf of project and its needs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 10 years related experience
- A minimum 5 years project management experience
- Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
- MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
- Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
