The Contribution You'll bring to this Role:

The Maintenance/Facility Technician will support BCI (Justrite) in the day-to-day manufacturing operations. This role ensures optimal operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, automation and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. The Maintenance/Facility Technician will report to the Engineering Manager.

About the Team:

As a member of our Maintenance team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment. This dedicated team is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, addressing equipment malfunctions, and implementing solutions to improve operational efficiency. With a strong focus on safety and reliability, the Maintenance Team collaborates closely with other departments to minimize downtime and maintain a productive work environment. Their expertise and commitment to excellence reflect Justrite Safety Group's values, ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

What You'll Do at Justrite:



  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments (voltmeter, etc.).
  • Removes and replaces defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists or forklift, hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. Organizes the Maintenance Storage area
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • This individual is part of the Engineering Team effort and will work to accomplish related results as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by Management.


Your Skills and Expertise:

To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:



  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience on manufacturing equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent knowledge of basic preventative maintenance skills including but not limited to: lubrication, identifying trouble areas such as excess wear and fatigue and general understanding of a preventative maintenance program.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and lift loads of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and/or bend frequently.
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the production facility to access materials, machinery, and supplies as well as inside the office, and warehouse areas
  • Attend meetings and discuss business issues with other Departments.
  • Required working knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Ability to use good judgment and problem-solving skills in a proactive manner.
  • Excellent knowledge of basic preventative maintenance skills including but not limited to: lubrication, identifying trouble areas such as excess wear and fatigue and general understanding of a preventative maintenance program.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, devices & PLC interface
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and the ability to troubleshoot / repair problems
  • Experience with RF Welding is a plus
  • Knowledge of hand tools and maintenance shop equipment
  • Knowledge of plumbing and associated skills, soldering, brazing is a plus
  • Fabrication skills with metal and wood for simple jigs/fixtures for production
  • Plan and layout preventive maintenance procedures
  • General Welding experience and / or certifications is preferred.
  • Travel between 2 facilities (7 miles apart) will be required; must possess valid Drivers license. Experience with pulling a trailer is beneficial.
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision
  • Involved with building maintenance and exterior housekeeping as needed.
  • Assists in plant housekeeping, as required.
  • The person in this position must be able to handle smaller parts up to larger machinery and assist in repairs as necessary.
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Participate in improvement events/projects that require mechanical & electrical support


Compensation:

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $20 to $25 per hour.

Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance their overall total compensation package when Justrite Safety Group and their business units achieve annual business and financial targets.
