Responsibilities

The Senior Acquisition Program Manager will provide direct program and contract management support to a Department of Defense (DoD) customer executing research, engineering, prototyping, development and test. They will support the customer Program Director by providing oversight, planning and reporting of current and future projects being explored and executed. This position will be located in Crystal City, Virginia.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in small, targeted teams to identify emerging capabilities or projects to pursue
  • Plan, oversee, and foster a portfolio of projects supporting customer direction
  • Provide input and assist in preparing Request for Proposals, Statements of Work, CDRL language, DD-254 and similar documentation
  • Perform technical evaluations of contractor proposals, provide input on contractor performance and provide detailed, quantitative feedback
  • Organize concept development plans, concept of operations, studies, or white papers and rapidly prototype and deliver advanced capabilities to the warfighter
  • Provide oral and written briefings to senior DoD leadership, create written reports detailing assessment findings, and make recommendations to DoD customers and external partners
  • Build, lead, inspire, and enable a diverse research team to carry out foundational, often novel, research
  • Routinely collaborate with interagency partners across the whole of government to generate new project concepts and overcome challenges

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 20+ years of proven experience with the Department of Defense Acquisition process and contracting

  • Excellent spoken, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with Department of Defense hardware, software, or weapon system prototyping, test, or operations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with the Department of Defense Acquisition process, contracting, program planning and execution

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field, systems engineering, mathematics, physics, or other quantitative field
  • Master's degree in a science or engineering field, systems engineering, mathematics, physics, or other quantitative fields DESIRED

Clearance requirement: Top Secret with SCI (TS/SCI)
