General Summary

The Legal Assistant is responsible for performing numerous administrative tasks for the Company's Legal Department. The role will include a wide variety of tasks with a heavy focus on contract administration, document preparation, correspondence, and general administrative support. The role will require regular communication with the Company's field operations and third parties.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of legal documents for field operations or other corporate departments.

  • Assist in administering the Department's contract workflow. The Department's contract workflow is a system for intake, preparation, and processing of legal documents for legal review, signature, storage, and return to the party that submitted the contract for review.

  • Receive and prepare a high volume of contracts for review by in-house attorneys.

  • Compare incoming contracts to previously negotiated contracts, carrying over past edits and identifying different, additional, or missing language.

  • Communicate with field operations or other corporate departments throughout the contract review process.

  • Communicate with field operations or other corporate departments on a variety of other legal inquires.

  • Format and mail correspondence for the Company's attorneys.

  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks for the Department, including record keeping, filing documents, processing invoices, and handling compliance mailings.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Specifications

Knowledge

  • College degree

  • Prior experience preferred

Skills and abilities

  • Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking.

  • Ability to manage numerous projects at once, remain organized and prioritize workload.

  • Excellent oral and written communication.

  • Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public.

  • Ability to work in an environment of dynamic growth and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to be mobile in the work environment.

  • Ability to pass a drug test.
