Job Summary:

The Network Services team is responsible for building, supporting, and optimizing the Compass North American network in all on-premises and cloud environments. The Network Services team works hand in hand with all technology teams within the Enterprise Architecture and Shared Services Technology (EASST) division to support the goals of Compass Technology, Sports, Entertainment & Leisure, and Compass Group.

The Network Engineer is responsible for the ongoing configuration and support of the organization's network infrastructure that powers the wired, wireless, and VoIP and POS connectivity needs of the sport entertainment and leisure venues, field sites and corporate and remote offices. This individual will be deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise level networks to support data communications.
The Network Engineer works as a member of the Network Services team and is charged to understand the goals/objectives of that team and how it supports those of the Enterprise Architecture and Shared Services Technology division.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the operational stability and support of our LAN, WAN, and wireless networking infrastructure to achieve targeted uptime and reliability
  • Responsible for the deployment and integration of new sites and services
  • Monitor the health of all networking devices and WAN/Internet circuits leveraging tools like SolarWinds for automated alerting and reports
  • Perform backup and restore testing/validation weekly/monthly/quarterly
  • Provide tier 1and tier 2 support for incidents related to any technology owned and supported by the Network Services group
  • Provide project support for openings, new builds, upgrades and moves at venues
  • Fortinet, Meraki, HPE Aruba and traditional Cisco network management.
  • Firewall configuration and management, Fortigate and FortiManger preferred
  • SD-WAN technologies including Fortinet and Meraki.
  • Experience with network protocols, such as EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, and NAT.
  • Understanding of general security concepts and protocols such as IPSec, SSL/TLS, IDS/IPS, WAF and DDoS protection.
  • Network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.
  • Familiarity with cloud and hybrid cloud networks
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude and solutions-oriented thinking
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

PREFERRED:

  • Fortinet Network Security Expert certification (NSE4)
  • Cisco or equivalent associate-level collaboration certification (CCNA-Collaboration)
