These (3) positions will be based in Elizabeth, NJ (2) and Hainesport, NJ (1) and require regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

Are you a dynamic and results-driven leader ready to make a significant impact in the retail beverage industry? We are seeking three enthusiastic and experienced District Managers to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing a team of 5-8 sales representatives and floating merchandisers across 150-300 accounts, contributing to a revenue range of $15-$30 million. As the District Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales volume and revenue, ensuring our brands are represented impeccably in retail accounts.

Your role will encompass training, development, performance assessment, and motivation of your team members to not only meet but exceed sales plans. You will utilize various tools such as sales training modules and field ride-alongs to develop both new and experienced sales representatives. In addition to providing timely performance assessments, you will lead weekly sales meetings to review territory performance and overall sales results. Setting goals at both territory and account levels to achieve revenue objectives is a key part of your responsibilities.

Your expertise will be crucial in presenting monthly programs and providing brand direction, as well as developing and managing incentive programs at the district level. You will train and manage the execution of distributor pricing plans and conduct product education and training sessions with employees and retailers. Building strong customer relationships with key independent business owners will be essential to your success.

As a leader, you will onboard new sales reps, cover open territories, and direct tastings and programs in the market. Your role will also involve establishing account programs, managing major accounts, and identifying and developing future management candidates. Practicing and ensuring safe work and driving habits is a must.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of professional sales experience to include at least one year of Gallo wholesaler or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor experience that includes a holiday season reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of professional sales experience with a Gallo wholesaler or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor that includes a holiday season reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to lift or move 45 - 57 pound cases of product.
  • Required to work weekends for special functions/events when needed.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. What You Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of wine sales experience to include at least one year of affiliated distributor experience that includes a holiday season; OR Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of retail and on-premise district manager experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Knowledgeable in Gallo sales/merchandising standards, policies, and selling skills.
  • Demonstrated Leadership aptitude and skill.
  • Completion of Fine Wine Training I certification
  • CSS and/or CSW certifications

Compensation:

  • Hiring salary range posted: $75,600- $113,400/ year
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
