Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect with 14+ years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Hadoop and Databricks SQL Databricks Delta Lake Databricks Workflows and PySpark. This hybrid role requires a deep understanding of data architecture and the ability to drive innovative solutions. The position is based on a day shift schedule with no travel requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures using Hadoop Databricks SQL Databricks Delta Lake and Databricks Workflows.
  • Oversee the development and optimization of data pipelines and workflows to ensure efficient data processing and integration.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team on best practices for using PySpark and other relevant technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing robust data governance and validation processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance and scalability of data systems.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high coding standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architectures workflows and processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in data technologies to drive innovation.
  • Conduct interactive sessions and workshops to improve team members' skills with new tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize data-related projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor and tackle data systems to ensure optimal performance and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Contribute to the companys overall data strategy and help shape the future direction of data initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Possess extensive experience in Databricks SQL Databricks Delta Lake and Databricks Workflows.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in PySpark and its application in data processing and analytics.
  • Have a solid background in designing and implementing scalable data architectures.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
  • Show a proven track record of leading and mentoring technical teams.
  • Display good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams.
  • Have a deep understanding of data governance and data quality best practices.
  • Demonstrate the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Possess strong documentation skills to maintain clear and comprehensive records.
  • Show a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential challenges.
  • Have a passion for driving innovation and delivering impactful data solutions.
Certifications Required

Certified Databricks Developer Certified Data Engineer Certified PySpark Developer

Salary and Other Compensation:

Application will be accepted until May 30, 2025

The annual salary for this position is between $120,000- $165,000 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
