Job Type: Full-time with overtime

Experience: 1 year preferred (Will train)

Reports to: Foreman, no supervisory responsibility

Wage: $26 - $28 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:

The Water Truck/Dump Truck Operator will be responsible for loading and operating a water truck and supplying water to the portable plants and spraying the grade. Experience short-haul delivery, traveling around Iowa and Minnesota, and be an integral part of exciting projects building heavy highway roads and bridges The Water Truck/Dump Truck Operator is a full-time, seasonal position that requires travel with overtime through peak season, reports to the Foreman, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Load and operate water trucks, supply water to portable plants, watering grade.
  • Operate the truck in a safe and productive manner.
  • Complete pre- and post-trip inspection and other required paperwork.
  • Fuel, grease, maintain, and service truck.
  • Operate other equipment as needed.
  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours).



Position Requirements:



  • Minimum Class B with Tanker Endorsements


  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
  • Use hand tools to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Mechanical background and skills.
  • Current MSHA certification.
  • Transportation to and from work and travel to various job locations as needed.
  • Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal.
  • Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
  • A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.
  • Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.
